A visit to Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi. One of the most famous sights in UAE.

Having been based in Dubai for 4 years, I’ve never actually got to visit the famous Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi. The Mosque is well known as a White Mosque as it is all made from white marble with decorations of yellow gold. It is the third largest mosque in the world and the largest one in UAE. A friend of mine came to visit Dubai and we went on a trip to Abu Dhabi together to see the Mosque with our own eyes.

It was pretty cloudy that day and we even got a few drops of rain – which is a rare thing in this part of the world, but still we were lucky to catch some sunlight!

First impression – the Mosque is very white!  :) I was there on a cloudy day but still the whiteness just blinds, so here comes a tip number one – take your sunnies with you! ;) Tip number 2 (which is the last one) – you might want to bring some socks with you, as to get in inside the Mosque you have to remove your shoes. Also it is totally fine walking barefoot as there are carpets inside everywhere and the marble where the floor is not covered feels very smooth and cool.

Everything the rest you have to experience yourself! The Mosque is definitely a must place to visit! Enjoy… xxx
